HOW TO's

Creating a Parent \ Username and adding your children to your account

You only have to do this step ONE time. You do not have to create separate login's for multiple children.

  • *Go to www.ljsfoodservice.com.
  • *Click the "LOGIN" tab and enter your contact information to create an account for yourself.
  • *After your account is setup and you login, you will be directed to our "Welcome Page"
  • *Click the "My Children" tab.
  • *Click Add.
  • *Enter your child's data (first, last, nickname, school ID, grade, homeroom teacher).

Email info@ljscaterers.com if you did not receive a welcome letter from your school. Make sure to let us know which school you need an ID for.

  • *Click Add.
  • *Click OK after the popup screen.
  • *Repeat this step if you have multiple children.

Ordering Meals Online

There is a 48 hour cutoff to order your meal online

  • *Go to www.ljsfoodservice.com and login using the "LOGIN" tab.
  • *Click the "My Children" tab.
  • *Click the "Select Menu" Button for the child you wish to select a menu for.

Note:  You will not be able to view menu if you left the School ID field blank when adding a child.

  • *Click on the checkbox for the days you would like lunch. If your child does not want the main meal that day, you can select a substitution under the "alternate lunch" drop down box.
  • *After you have selected all of your meals, click "Save Menu" to save your choices.
  • *Review your child's calendar, then choose one of the following steps.

Þ If you would like to order for the following month, click "Next Month" (upper right portion of menu).

Note: We post most school menus in 2 month increments (Sept\Oct, Nov\Dec, Jan\Feb, etc).

Þ If you would like to generate an invoice, click the "Create Invoice" button.

Note: This will bring you to the payment screen, please see payment options below.

Þ If you would like to order meals for another child, click the "Next Child's Menu" button, follow the steps above.

Þ If you would like to print the choices you selected, click the "Print calendar" button.

Note: This for your reference only. Only meals that are paid for correctly will be sent.

Þ If you made a mistake and want to make a change, click the "Back" to return to the previous page.

Payment Options:

  • *"Paypal Now" - You will be linked to Paypal, enter your payment information on their site. If you choose this option your order will be considered "Complete". If your school uses coupons, they will be immediately available on the "My Orders" tab.

Please note eChecks or paypal accounts that link to a bank account instead of a credit card will take 4-5 days to process.

  • *"Pay by Check" - You will have the option to print out an invoice. Please print invoice and staple check or cash to invoice.

Do not send payment to the school. Please send payment to: LJ's Food Service, 49 Wadsworth St, Wallington, NJ 07057. Once we receive the check, we will send the meals and\or coupons will be ready to print on the "My Orders" tab. 

If you choose this option your order will be considered "Pending" until the check is received and entered.  Meals that are "Pending" will not be sent.

  • *"Reinvoice Unpaid Days" - If you have multiple invoices OR if your invoice is not totaling properly, please click this button to generate a new invoice.

Confirming Order:

  • *Click on the "My Orders" tab. Click on the button that reads "Click Here to Print Coupons or View all Selected Meals"
  • *ANY meal that is correctly paid for from the current day going forward will show up when that button is clicked.
  • *If your school uses coupons, please print out that page and bring in the coupons on the days meals are served. You will also be AUTOMATICALLY emailed coupons as an attachment when you pay for a meal, any meals paid on credit though will not be emailed.

Canceling a meal online 

There is a 48 hour cutoff to cancel your meal online. If you miss the cutoff date\time, you will have to cancel manually.

  • *Go to www.ljsfoodservice.com and login using the "LOGIN" tab.
  • *Click the "My Children" tab.
  • *Click the "Select Menu" Button for the child you wish to cancel a meal for.
  • *Deselect the checkbox for the day(s) you would like cancel lunch.
  • *Click "Save Menu"

***Make sure to click "Save Menu". This will apply a credit to your LJ's account. Credits can be banked as future lunch payments.

Canceling, adding or changing a meal manually (After 48 hour online cutoff and before 8:00 the day the meal is served) 

Meals can be manually added, cancelled or changed up to 8:00 the day the meal is served.

  • *Email the following information to info@ljsfoodservice.com after the online cutoff and by 8:00 AM the day the meal is served

+School Name

+Child Name

+Child's Teacher and Grade\Room

+The Meal your child is canceling, adding or changing

*If you follow the steps above, you will receive a confirmation email. If you are canceling , your account will be credited within 48 hours, LJ's credits can be banked as future lunch payments. If you are adding, you will be charged a $3.00 add-on fee.

Changing a meal online 

There is a 48 hour cutoff to change your meal online. If you miss the cutoff date\time, you will have to change it manually.

To change a meal online, you have to "cancel" your original meal to issue a credit, then reselect the meal you want. The credit will automatically apply to your new selection. The steps are below:

  • *Go to www.ljsfoodservice.com and login using the "LOGIN" tab.
  • *Click the "My Children" tab.
  • *Click the "Select Menu" Button for the child you wish to change a meal for.
  • *Deselect the checkbox for the days you would like change.
  • *Click "Save Menu" button to save your choice(s) and apply your credit to your LJ's account.
  • *Click the "My Children" tab.
  • *Click the "Select Menu" Button for the child you wish to order the new meal for.
  • *Click on the checkbox for the days you would like lunch. If your child does not want the main meal that day, you can select a substitution under the "alternate lunch" drop down box.
  • *After you have reselected the meal you wanted to change, click "Save Menu" to save your choice.
  • *Click "Create Invoice" - if you followed these steps correctly, the system will automatically use the credit and apply it to the new meal choice.

 Using a credit to purchase a new meal 

There is a 48 hour cutoff to order your meal online.

  • *Follow the same steps for "ORDERING MEALS"
  • *If you have a credit on your account, the credit amount should automatically be deducted from your next invoice. If your invoice total does not reflect the credits OR is not totaling correctly, click the REINVOICE BUTTON on the checkout page (after you click "Create Invoice" button).
